Earlier this week we talked about the importance of online portfolios. In this week's Meet Our Students feature, we thought we'd display two students who are currently in ART 413: Time Based Media. One of the main emphases of this class is professional practices and portfolios. Take a look at two senior-level students portfolios!
Alex Goecks is a freelance photographer (and BFA photo major) originally from Cedarburg, Wisconsin. Since attending Cardinal Stritch he has photographed for university events, NightByYou, and other freelance jobs. Alex's work ranges from still-life to promotional materials to portraits. Alex also enjoys painting and exploring hidden Milwaukee treasures in his spare time. Make sure to check out his portfolio for even more examples of his work!
Rachel Babiak is a senior graphic designer from the metro Milwaukee area. While attending CSU she has compiled a portfolio of conceptual and real-world pieces that help create her cohesive message: clean and readable. Rachel has created pieces for the university's theater department, the Green Tree Garden club, and many freelance clients. Rachel enjoys watching Dexter and catching snippets of information on Listverse in her spare time. Check out her graphics portfolio for more work samples!
For many classes here in our art department, professors require students to keep up with blogs; for most students, however, this project turns into much more and goes beyond the classroom. Students use their blog to explore their creative endeavors, network, and learn more about themselves. Each week we will feature two student blogs and write a blurb along with the link.
