Open Studio Gallery Show

Open Studio

A unique gallery project showcasing artwork created by Visual Art Department students at Cardinal Stritch University this semester.

This exhibit will highlight the working methods and creative discoveries of the students in the Visual Art Department by transforming the gallery into an open studio for the last few weeks of the semester. See works-in-progress, sketches, and material studies as evidence of the development of students’ ideas. One area of the gallery will function as a critique space to be used by teachers and their students over the last week of the semester. Drop in to observe the artistic process in action!

The Visual Art Department Open Studio opens with a cake-and-punch celebration on Saturday November 23, 2013, 5-8pm

BEEloved Honey Packaging and Design

Serbian designers Njegos Lakic Tajsic and Tamara Mihajlovic have created a concept packaging design for a fictional honey brand named “BEEloved”.

With a jar inspired by the facets of the diamond, each striking jar contains a pyramid-shaped slab of honeycomb and is designed to stand out on the product shelf.

This beautiful container is accompanied by a stylized bee logo that is also inspired by the lines of a diamond—it is paired with dynamic typography for an unusual visual identity.

For our Client we are branding a Honey Infused Vodka. Because of this I thought this was an interesting packaging for literally "honey".

Unique Space LA started in 2008 by leader and head designer Sonja Rasula. It quickly became the largest buy-local shopping event in the country. The whole concept was to support local-artist and small businesses. It took the Made in the USA movement and ran with it.

Rasula also looked for Unique to help these local-artist and business orders with social media and web work to help them make it on their own.

A year ago Rasula looked to purchase a space to host and house as many of these entrepreneurial artists as possible and found just that in the LA's Artist District. The old warehouse turned studio will house about 100 artists and designers with 15 private offices leased to artists and a large co-work space for designers who are looking for a productive space

Main goal "support the growth of creativity!"

Really an awesome idea and maybe one day I think Milwaukee would totally benefit from this!!!
