.::. About the Gallery .::.
Northwestern Mutual Life Visual Art Department Gallery features the work of local and national contemporary visual artists as well as Stritch students. The gallery seeks to support the Visual Art curriculum at Stritch by presenting artwork with a diverse range of approaches and conceptual directions.
The gallery is located in the Joan Steele Stein Center for Communication Studies/Fine Arts on the Cardinal Stritch University campus.
A student-run Gallery Store, adjacent to the gallery, features an array of artworks, books, cards, and wearables made by Stritch art students and alumni.
The grounds surrounding the Joan Steele Stein Center is also home to a rotating exhibition of outdoor sculpture made by local and regional artists.

Open Studio
A unique gallery project showcasing artwork created by Visual Art Department students at Cardinal Stritch University this semester.
This exhibit will highlight the working methods and creative discoveries of the students in the Visual Art Department by transforming the gallery into an open studio for the last few weeks of the semester. See works-in-progress, sketches, and material studies as evidence of the development of students’ ideas. One area of the gallery will function as a critique space to be used by teachers and their students over the last week of the semester. Drop in to observe the artistic process in action!
The Visual Art Department Open Studio opens with a cake-and-punch celebration on Saturday November 23, 2013, 5-8pm
The show runs from November 23 to January 5, 2014
