Stritch Boxes and Walls

"Boxes and Walls" is an interactive oppression museum, which will make it's annual appearance at Stritch November 12 – 16th in the Kliebhan Conference Center. Each "room" presents a diversity-related experience which allows visitors to walk in somebody else's shoes.

The rooms that are present at Stritch focus on gender, race/ethnicity, sexual orientation, religion, and socioeconomic status.

There are three different ways to go through the museum:

Traditional Tours: Organizers will lead tour groups through and at the end of the program the group will meet with a staff member to process their experience. Please contact Jenni Herrick at jrherrick@stritch.edu to set up a tour.

Walk-through Tours: This year, they will offer walk through tours Monday through Thursday from 4-7pm, as well as friday from 9-11am. Participants will follow a self-guided tour that incorporates reflection prompts.

Class Experience: Faculty members who wish to bring students during their class period or would like students to participate for credit may contact Jenni Herrick at jrherrick@stritch.edu to create a format for the group.
