Should I Work for Free?

As we all know, art school can be taxing on our wallets and time.  We do odd jobs to make a little extra cash whether it's working in a lab, babysitting, or even "cutting window mats for other students" (as one of our favorite professors used to do when he was in school!).  Every now and then an opportunity comes along where we can actually create something for someone else as a client.  While most of these opps end up being an awesome way to build our portfolios, sometimes there is always that awkward exchange of asking for payment.
