The project required all aspects of a real-world PR job: design briefs were drafted, meetings with each principal (client) were had, and revisions after requests were made. Each group worked on these projects intensively and some great work was created. Students drafted a multitude of documents including postcards, posters, bookmarks, and commercials; some students even created new logos and colors for schools who wanted to rebrand.
At the end of the semester, students presented their final projects to head of MPS public relations, Molly Quirk. It was a great way to experience talking about design decisions with a client. Overall Molly was very pleased with the work the students put out and even offered some pointers on what students could do when working with their next client.
This project was a perfect example of the values that students learn here at Stritch. Our University emphasizes creating a caring community and giving back to those in need. Students did not receive compensation for this project except for the ability to use the photos and graphics in their portfolios. These projects are a fantastic example of real-world work that will give these students an edge when looking for the job.
Many thanks go out to MPS, Molly, and all the hard work the students put into their pieces.... great job and enjoy your winter break!
