Contest Opportunity: Designs for Development

Roots of Development's 2nd Annual Designs for Development
deadline for submissions: September 30, 2012

Roots of Development is a non-profit based in Washington, DC which has raised thousands of dollars for sustainable development projects and has brought a unique approach to the world of development.

They are hosting the 2nd annual Designs for Development competition. This is open to anyone who has a love of design. This year, they want artists to design entries that will be screen-printed on t-shirts. The finalists will be featured in a runway presentation at Roots or Developments gala and the winning designs will be sold online to help increase awareness of the organization and funding for their partnerships in Haiti.

Entries from last year. The designs were printed on tote bags.

There are also money prizes, $1,000 to the winning entry and $500 for the runner-up.

Inspiration should come from Haiti and their designs and culture.
